The Pousada Beja (official name is Pousada São Franscisco) is a former 13th century Franciscan Convent located in the heart of the old quarter of the city of Beja.

This luxury hotel combines the mystic with the modern. The bedrooms are former monks cells - upgraded to a standard of luxury undreamed of by those same monks! There are vast public rooms such as the refectory and the columned halls and restaurant (which serves the regional specialties of Alentejo).
