The Pousada Viseu is the result of the architectural vision of Gonçalo Byrne who transformed the former São Teotónio Hospital, which was originally opened in 1842, into a majestic Pousada.

Three wonderful statues - representing Faith, Hope and Charity, stand atop the entrance - looking out over the old city.
